Jennifer Ralph Sage has been organizing and leading luxury bicycle tours in Europe since 1988. Her love affair with cycling in Europe began with a solo self-supported bicycle trip of 2,500 miles in 1988, after which she spent a year in France studying French culture, language and history. She then worked for two luxury bicycle tour companies for 13 years.
In addition to her experience as a bicycle tour guide, she has an extensive resumé. Jennifer has an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management, Thunderbird Campus. After a few years in the corporate world (including the US Olympic Committee and the Atlanta Paralympic Organizing Committee), she went back to her roots and forté of fitness, motivating, teaching and lecturing. As a personal trainer, massage therapist and ski instructor in the resort town of Vail, Colorado, Jennifer is used to delivering top quality service to clients with refined tastes. She is also a Master Instructor for Team Spinning and travels around the country certifying Spinning instructors, teaching fitness and cycling workshops nationwide, and lecturing at International Fitness Conferences.
She brings her expertise in cycling, educating, motivating and training to her bicycle tours. Combine this with her knowledge of French and Italian food, wine and all the finer aspects of European culture and you have an extremely well rounded experience when you travel with Jennifer!
The conception for the Vélo Concierge began in 1996 when she went cycling in France with a friend. They rented a car, took their own bikes and cycled the routes that she knew from her experience as a guide. The benefit of the car made it easy to access routes that were a little further from their hotel. She repeated this experience on her honeymoon in 2002, where she and her husband stayed in B&Bs in two hubs in Provence. She realized that this was a niche that wasn't being met in the industry, knowing that there are independent minded people who want to cycle in Europe and don't mind taking their own bikes, but just don't know where to go or how to go about it. Jennifer decided she would continue to provide the luxury organized guided experienced for private groups, but decided to provide a less expensive alternative to those experienced and independent cyclists who desire to go on their own.
