Could the Tour of 2009 have gotten any more exciting? We think it will in 2010, and we'll be there to watch the biggest and best stages of the Alpes and the Pyrenees.

Guided Tours

The Alpes - July 10-16 (6 ngihts/7 days): We'll be based at our luxury hotel in Megeve for stages 8, 9, with opportunities to climb some of the most exciting cols including Col de Ramaz, Morzine-Avoriaz, and the Col de la Madeleine. On rest day, we'll tackle the Col des Aravis with exquisite views to Mont Blanc, and the Col de la Croix Fry. You also have an option to climb the Col de la Colombiere and/or the Col de la Forclaz overlooking Lac d'Annecy. We then transfer to another luxury chateau, just outside of Grenoble, where we'll access a large part of stage 10 the next day. This rolling route is right out our hotel. You can choose to ride as much of the stage as you desire, or experience part of it, and return to challenge yourself on the amazing route to Chamrousse, the Hors Category climb which served as the uphill Time Trial the Lance Armstrong won in 2001. On the following day, after the Tour moves south, we wouldn't think of being soooo close to Alpe d'Huez without climbing it - so we will make sure you can go home with the knowledge that you added this ascent to your accomplishments. For the full itinerary, click here.

The Pyrenees - July 19-25 (6 nights/7 days): The Tour organizers have created a party in the Pyrénées as this will be the 100th year the Tour de France has scaled these mountains. We'll be there to celebrate along with them; riding stages 16, 17, 18 AND 19! You will experience the Tourmalet, Col d'Aubisque, Col de Soulor, and on rest day, Hautacam and/or Luz Ardiden. Yes, this will be a climber's dream tour. We spend 3 days in Lourdes, so close to all these amazing climbs, and 3 days in the vineyards just north of Bordeaux. For stage 18, you'll get the thrill of riding all the way into the finish line. The next day, we'll ride the time trial route through the world famous Médoc vineyards of Bordeaux. You can bet we will add some wine tasting to this tour! We have several ways for you to complete your experience in France. You can depart for home on the 25th, or you can choose to stay an extra day with us and ride in the vineyards visiting medieval villages and enjoying some wine tasting, and watch the finale of the Tour on television. Or, we'll drop you off at the train station for an early departure to Paris to view the finale on the Champs Elysée on your own. For the full itinerary, click here.

Mont Ventoux anyone? July 7-10 (3 nights/4 days) No doubt you watched this year's triumphant duel up the slopes of Ventoux on TV and had your interest piqued. Believe me, it's one of the most incredible (and challenging) climbs in all of France - but it's not just reserved for the elite. I've taken numerous everyday cyclists up the slopes of Mont Ventoux, and would love the opportunity to coach you up there as well. If you are eager to add Ventoux to your list, join us for the 3 days prior to the Alpes Tour to ascend this sublime monster of a mountain, and to spend a few days in the vineyards and lavender of Provence. (The itinerary is included in the Alpes Tour itinerary above). Not into the big climbs? We always have options on our tours for easier rides, stage viewing and non-cycling options.

The Vélo Concierge - self-guided options

Are you more independent, and want to see the Tour de France on your own? As I booked hotels for our group tours near the choice stages, I've also blocked out rooms for Vélo Concierge (self-guided) tours. If you're interested in a custom self-guided tour to the Tour, it's always best to contact me early so I can guarantee you the best hotels near your desired routes. A customized self-guided tour can include anything you want, and we give you everything you need to know to do it on your own in total confidence!

Samples self-guided tours:
