 | Beat The Euro with These Great Tours |
We've taken our most popular tours, and created 8-day packages that include 2 Hubs and the best value 3-star hotels or B&Bs and discounted them substantially - up to 40% off the Vélo Concierge fee! Prices listed are based on the lesser priced rooms in off-peak season. Your dates and room selection may affect the final price. The best value inns fill up fast, so we recommend you reserve quickly. We have not blocked off rooms at these inns, so we cannot guarantee prices. If they are not available, we have alternative inns that may be slightly higher. Some of the quoted prices include 3 or 4 dinners if the inn has a restaurant. All prices quoted are for double occupancy.
The Vélo Concierge specializes in customizing self-guided tours around your desires and abilities. Tour #2: The Heart of Provence - the Lubéron and the Vaucluse Back To Top

The Lubéron is dotted with more charming villages than any area of Provence, each sitting happily up on a hill overlooking the beautiful valley below. Your second Hub is located in the shadow of Mont Ventoux, which is an option if that's your desire. If not, there is spectacular riding in every direction.
Ability level: intermediate to advanced cyclists. This itinerary includes slightly more challenging rides on average than the Quintessential Provence itinerary, with rolling hills and climbs of up to 3+ miles on several of the Spokes. This is the choice if your desire is challenge, including easy access to the "Giant of Provence", Le Mont Ventoux, and other challenging cols. However, an athletic beginner can also enjoy this itinerary by choosing the shorter rides and avoiding the most challenging options, and following our included training program.
Price: From $985/pp in Chambre d'Hotes (B&Bs) or from $1,355/pp (includes breakfast and 3 dinners) in 3-star hotels.

Tour #3: The Heart of Burgundy - Beaune and the Côte de Nuits Back To Top

Ability level: athletic beginner to intermediate cyclists.
Burgundy has everything a cyclist could want - great riding, great food, great accommodations and of course, the finest wine! Schedule your rides around local market days for unbeatable (and inexpensive) picnics on your cycling route in the shade of a chateau or next to a cool stream. Another benefit of this region is ease of access from Paris by train or car, reducing your travel expenses even more.
Ability level: athletic beginner to intermediate. Some fairly short options exist, with several primarily flat rides. Challenge also available if desired.
Price: From $900/pp in Chambre d'Hotes (B&B) or from $1,025/pp in charming 3-star hotels (breakfast included).

Tour #4: the Famous Climbs of the Alpes (Les Chasseurs des Cols, or The Col Seekers). Back To Top

One of our most popular destinations for avid cyclists is the Alpes. Not only is the scenery spectacular, but the memories of climbing some of the most famous climbs of the world is indelible! We give you tips on how best to tackle the most popular climbs, plus insider's info on the "secret" lesser-known local's favorites. Meals here are slighter less expensive than those found in Provence or Burgundy.
Ability level: Strong riders usually do much better on these routes, however, I've sent fairly new cyclists to the Alpes, and with the right training and the right mindset, they climbed every peak they put their minds to! Just a little slower, and no one says it's a race! There are a few easier rides in each of the Hubs, but most include climbs of 3,000+ feet or more.
Price: From $1,225/pp in a 3-star hotel and a charming B&B (includes 4 dinners). This is an exceptional value, and if you book soon, you may be lucky enough to get a room in our most favorite, excellent value B&Bs in the Alpes!

Tour #5: The Heart of Tuscany Back To Top

It's undeniable that Tuscany is a favorite destination for cyclists. The two Hubs are near the charming villages of Radda-in-Chianti and Pienza so you know you will see the best that Tuscany has to offer. May and June and September are the recommended months if possible, for reduced traffic, best weather and access to the best inns. We recommend an early reservation, even more so for Tuscany than for some other regions!
Price: 3-star hotels from $1,025/pp (breakfast included).
For Agritourismo rates, please contact us. (Agriturismo are Italian farm stays, often in apartments or presented as B&Bs. The accommodations are so varied in what is offered that we cannot create a package until we know your preferences, but for the few that are very close to Radda and Pienza, we wll offer the same discount).
